Natural detoxification and addiction management NEURORECOVERY is an innovative, non-addictive, patient-specific program based on years of applied science and treatment. The NEURORECOVERY program utilizes Amino Acid based intravenous preparations for detoxification, coupled with unique oral nutraceutical supplements to assist in managing symptoms both during detoxification and as an ongoing strategy to reduce cravings.
The NEURORECOVERY TREATMENT is patient-specific IV preparations and unique oral nutraceutical supplements are designed to rapidly assist the body in restoring neuroreceptor function to an optimal level. Once the body’s neuroreceptor functions have been healed, the patient’s craving for these substances is lessened allowing the clinician to remediate any other underlying conditions that lead to the original substance abuse. The finished amino acid formulations that began with the pioneering work of Dr. William Hitt, the first scientist to develop effective treatment to address the underlying chemical cause of dependence and addiction. Begun with research in the 1980s, Neurorecovery treatment has proven to be the one most effective and comprehensive drug treatment program in the world.
These formulas are based on over 15 years of treatment of more than 3,000 patients by Dr. William M. Hitt. The first phase of supplementation is patient-specific, based on the type and severity of the substance abuse, to treat withdrawal symptoms and to ensure the body’s full return to nutritional balance.
HOW IS NEURORECOVERY TREATMENT GIVEN?
The Neurorecovery treatment involves several days, usually without interruption, of daily intravenous treatment. Because Neurorecovery formulas are composed entirely of very simple amino acids – the natural building blocks of proteins – and a natural enzyme cofactor, they are inherently well tolerated. Dr. Amauri will monitor you during the entire treatment to prevent unwanted reactions. The IV formula is given as a slow drip, requiring about eight hours each day to start and then tapering to fewer hours as detox and healing occurs. The prolonged daily exposure to high levels of amino acids and nutrients allows most patients who have already gone, or are going through detox, and have struggled with keeping clean from their substance or addictive habit to kick the addiction completely; and start feeling better on the first day of treatment. While some withdrawal symptoms will be felt, most patients find that it is much less severe than doing it without the assistance of the Nutritional Amino acids IV program.
The program will also be very helpful for individuals that are looking for a quick boost to their mental regime; people that are struggling with their mood, or are on prescription anti-depressants and looking for other options. Patients have found that the major negative effects of the drug or alcohol use, such as cravings and anxiety, are gone by the fourth day of treatment.
The second phase of healing takes over at this point – getting back one’s enthusiasm, memory and mental clarity, sleep quality and energy. Dr. Amauri will help you determine how many total days of treatment are required for the optimal, lasting result.
WILL THE EFFECT LAST?
Most patients have found the positive effects of Intravenous amino acid NEURORECOVERY treatments to be long lasting, provided one refrains from using the same substances again. Repeat IV treatments are seldom needed, although some patients enjoy a periodic booster. Patients will usually be supplied with an oral after-care supplement program utilizing Zao® Reset™ and Zao® Renew™. These two unique nutraceutical supplements were formulated and designed over the last 10 years between the Hitt Clinic and Montiff, Inc. The supplements are based on Dr. Hitt’s research and treatment of neuroreceptor function and amino acid balance along with Montiff’s expertise in nutritional biochemistry. The patient will utilize these supplements post-intravenous treatment to maintain proper neuroreceptor function and amino acid balance. By encouraging daily neuroreceptor function and amino acid balance, the patient should maintain their craving reduction and notice the restoration of mental clarity that will enhance the patient’s opportunity to live substance free.
IS NEURORECOVERY SAFE?
Because NEURORECOVERY formulas are composed entirely of very simple amino acids—the natural building blocks of protein—and a natural enzyme cofactor, they are inherently very safe. Dr. Amauri will monitor you during the entire treatment to prevent unwanted reactions.
NEURORECOVERY rebalances the brain’s neurotransmitters affected by all classes of drugs, including:
- Anxiety drugs (Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, etc.)
- Narcotics (pain drugs)
- Insomnia drugs
- ADHD drugs
WHAT IS MISSING IN THE TREATMENT OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL DEPENDENCE?
A method of addressing the underlying chemical changes in the brain that the drugs or alcohol have caused. Abstinence, psychological support and switching to other drugs are generally all that are used in drug treatment, in hopes that the brain will gradually recover on its own from the chemical damage. While some degree of brain healing will usually occur after decreasing or discontinuing drug or alcohol use, very often the natural healing is minimal, and the person suffers with continuing emptiness, anxiety, depression, insomnia, cravings, pain, brain fog and/or fatigue.
NEURORECOVERY amino acid therapy directly addresses the chemical changes that drugs or alcohol have caused in the brain. Brain cells send signals to one another using a variety of chemicals called neurotransmitters. Dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine are examples of these. A neurotransmitter emitted by one cell is picked up by specialized receptors on neighboring cells.
HOW DOES DEPENDENCE OCCUR?
Alcohol and mood-altering drugs (prescription or illegal) work by either mimicking the action of neurotransmitters, or artificially stimulating/suppressing them. Different drugs affect different neurotransmitters and their receptors. Continued use of these substances can gradually decrease the brain cells’ natural ability to send or receive signals. The nervous system then becomes physically dependent on the substance, continuing to rely on it in an attempt to maintain feelings of normalcy and avoid withdrawal. This is the basis of addiction.
Abrupt withdrawal can be a dangerous shock, and gradually cutting down can be a very slow and painful process. Either method often results in failure or in lasting anxiety, depression, insomnia and other unpleasant symptoms. The drugs or alcohol have dug their own hole, which now only they can fill. This chemical dependence adds another problem to any health problems the person may have had before using the substances. The reason drugs and alcohol can so easily alter the brain is that it is not designed for this type of prolonged or heavy chemical exposure. The Brain develops very slowly during childhood and adolescence in a carefully balanced way, and these substances throw off that important balance. The body does not always have adequate quantities of protein repair materials naturally available to repair this type of damage.
NEURORECOVERY — is a safe, natural and effective. Intravenous amino acid formulas supply specific combinations of amino acids that have been observed to assist the brain’s natural healing processes, bringing about rapid restoration of brain functions with minimal withdrawal symptoms, even when stopping current drugs or alcohol abruptly.
The various NEURORECOVERY formulas were developed with over twenty years of research with hundreds of patients. NEURORECOVERY has been found in the majority of cases to bring about major improvement in symptoms of drug and alcohol dependence in a seven- to ten-day period, that otherwise would take months to years to occur (if it would occur at all). The particular formula the doctor will choose for a patient and how many days of treatment will be required depend on the patient’s substance use history. Amino Acid NEURORECOVERY Therapy The brain has neuro-receptors that receive signals from natural neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and nor-epinephrine, the so-called “feel good” brain chemicals. Drugs and alcohol mimic this effect, but they over-stimulate the nerves and damage the very receptors they are stimulating.
WHAT DO AMINO ACIDS DO?
Amino acids actually rebuild the damaged areas of the brain. These basic amino acids are specially formulated to be able to penetrate and positively influence the brain. Because the amino acids give the brain what it craves in a natural non- habit forming way, while rebuilding the neurotransmitters; the cravings begin to recede very rapidly.
